Children aged 2-5 years can access a range of resources at Kidsfirst North New Brighton that are carefully and intentionally presented to ignite thinking and exploration. Learning occurs in all spaces at the child’s pace, acknowledging the mana, wairua and mauri our tamariki bring when they come to us. Tamariki are encouraged to be mindful of and inspired by the world around them, and respectful of the environment they play and learn in.

Inside we have areas set up for children to explore and engage in play experiences with and alongside each other choosing from a wide range of resources and equipment:  there are quiet, creative and imaginative play areas.

Outside, our beautiful, big backyard has areas to experience physical challenges such as climbing trees, and equipment specially designed to support children’s physical growth and development.  Tamariki choose from, and learn to use, a range of real resources such as saws, hammers, nails, gardening equipment, spades and shovels, learning about managing risk and making safe choices.

Our teaching team works from a set of values that promote a love of learning, passion and wonderment - your child’s imagination is nurtured, building on their interests, skills and abilities and valuing every person in our kindergarten as a teacher and learner.

We see our Kindergarten as an extension of home for children and their families, where we respect one another and the world we live in. Children at Kidsfirst North New Brighton experience an environment that promotes a “community of learners” where adults and children learn together (Ako me te Tuakana Teina) and where links between kindergarten and home are valued.

You're always welcome here -  community and connectedness are at the heart of what we do. We value the relationships we build with our whānau/families, and look forward to making new connections, we love the multiculturalism and diversity of our community, and it enriches our programme when family and whānau come in to share their skills, interests, languages and cultures with the children to extend their learning.

We have strong connections with our local kura/school to support a positive transition for your child when he/she goes to school.

We would recommend that you enrol initially for at least two full days –building up to five days at your child's pace. This gives us, the teachers time to get to know your child and provides consistency around supporting their learning.

Nau mai, tauti mai - come in any time, we are very proud of our unique learning environment and would love to show you around.  Kidsfirst Kindergartens North New Brighton is a wonderful place to learn!
