Inside we have an open, calm and inviting space for children to learn alongside their peers  in play areas that allow the them to learn both independently and with others as they choose. Kaiako encourage children to explore, and give them a sense of control whilst supporting children to engage in focused, self-directed play.

Our beautiful, big backyard provides a variety of experiences that challenge and stimulate learning. Under the shade of a large willow tree children have opportunities for exploration through sand and water play, imaginative play and physical challenges. The outdoor environment provides an abundance of sensory stimulation with birds to hear, plants and insects to see, flowers to smell, and many textures to touch. By giving children frequent opportunities to play outdoors in nature’s playground, teachers prepare children to recognise, appreciate, and learn about what lives in our natural world.

Our programme caters for all children’s interests, supporting children to become competent, confident learners, healthy in mind, body and spirit. We have a strong bi-cultural focus and encourage our tamariki to engage in, and learn from, the environment.  Every day we foster your child’s curiosity, imagination and development of knowledge through play, creativity and exploration.

You're always welcome here - community and connectedness are at the heart of everything we do.  Our community events are always well supported and whānau often stay to be involved in session, supporting the kindergarten and contributing by bringing in kai for morning tea, (and for the kindergarten rabbit), helping out by fixing equipment, sharing their skills, language and culture with us - all enriching our programme.

We have built great relationships with our local schools – we take children on visits to new entrant classrooms and support the transition to school process for you and your child.  We regularly take our tamariki on walks into the community to visit the local playground, explore the red zone and to have picnics in the park – you’ll see us out and about with our hi-vis vests on!

We would recommend that you enrol initially for at least two full days – building up to five days at your child's pace. This gives our teachers time to get to know your child and gives some consistency around supporting their learning.

Nau mai, tauti mai -come in any time – we’ll show you around and make you welcome!

From time to time we have special offers, to enable more children to come to our not-for-profit, community kindergarten. But hurry, spaces are limited and these offers only apply for a limited time. Conditions apply.
