A change of name, not of focus.
Many of our kindergartens have undergone significant change over the years. Quite a few have changed names, many have changed location. As an organisation, we've seen these changes take place in response to the Depression, World Wars, and most recently the Canterbury earthquakes.
But no matter what the change, the emphasis has always remained on the children, the teaching and the development.
Ilam Kindergarten changed from Ryland Kindergarten on the 27th of March 1995 but these 'little people,' as they were called in the 1940s, have always been the centre of the kindergarten's focus.
Whether it's relaxing on the beautiful reserve that complements the kindergarten's suburban position (top image), or reveling in the excitement of the kindergarten's trikeathon (bottom image), Ilam Kindergarten has always been a welcoming and child-focused centre, dedicated to providing the best early childhood education for every child that walks in the door.
