Kidsfirst Kindergartens Cashmere is a well-resourced, light and spacious learning environment that offers children time, space and  the resources to be creative and expressive, and to make their own decisions about their learning at their own pace. Children aged  2 - 5 years here learn through uninterrupted play, with protected spaces that allow children to work for sustained periods of time, to come back to and involve others in their work.

Our beautiful big backyard has lots of room for children to explore and to develop their physical skills, with a variety of moveable equipment that allows children to set their own challenges, with green grass, barked areas, gardens and equipment specially designed to support children’s physical growth.  Our big trees provide shelter outside in all weather, and there are peaceful, quiet areas for calm and reflection.

At Kidsfirst Kindergartens Cashmere our programme promotes creativity and empowers children to take risks, try new things and find success. We ignite an excitement for learning in children by recognising and responding to a child’s individual interests. Play is essential to learning and development in our tamariki, and we encourage children to share their thoughts and ideas, and explore their working theories at kindergarten.

You're always welcome here - community and connectedness are at the heart of what we do. We value the relationships we build with our whānau/families, and look forward to making new connections.  The languages and  cultures of our families are included in our early learning journey, and whānau and community are encouraged to be involved at our kindergarten in whatever way suits – through a helpful hand now and then, through social events, or by just joining us for a part of our day.

You’ll often see us out and about in our community, using the opportunity to help our tamariki make connections to be part of life in the wider community, and to make sense of their place in it.  We have strong links with our local primary school, which supports the transition to school for you and your child, as he/she moves on from Kindergarten.

We would recommend that you enrol initially for at least two full days –building up to five days at your child's pace. This gives us, the teachers time to get to know your child and provides consistency around supporting their learning.

Come in any time, we are very proud of our unique learning environment and would love to show you around.  Kidsfirst Kindergartens Cashmere is a wonderful place to learn!
