Our teaching team
Kidsfirst Kindergartens Ngaire Larcombe is a well-resourced kindergarten with a spacious, welcoming, and attractive and child-centred environment. Inside we provide lots of opportunities to try new things, inspire curiosity and develop creativity through play. We work to provide an atmosphere full of fun in an environment that gives our children independence and sense of belonging.
Our beautiful, big backyard has lots of room for children to explore and to develop their physical skills, with a variety of moveable equipment that allows children to set their own challenges. We have a natural landscape with activities that capture the imagination, providing endless opportunities for your child’s curiosity and exploration. We love being next door to the fire station, and we often have visits from the firemen who work there.
Children at Kidsfirst Kindergartens Ngaire Larcombe learn in an environment and philosophy that values and supports uninterrupted and sustainable play, developing their problem solving skills, taking risks, becoming confident and capable. A strong sense of Manaakitanga (caring and respect) and Whanaungatanga (family, relationships, history, traditions) are central to the culture that is Kidsfirst Kindergartens Ngaire Larcombe.
Our teaching team has a strong commitment to creating partnerships with our families and whānau. We want to get to know you and your family well, nurturing trusting relationships. Whanaungatanga - family, relationships, history, traditions – all these things help us to support your child with their learning.
You're always welcome here - community and connectedness are at the heart of what we do. We look forward to making new connections, embracing the multiculturalism and diversity of our community. We love it when whānau visit and take part in their child’s kindergarten day, sharing your skills and culture and bringing a richness to our programme.
You will see us out and about visiting in our local area, with tamariki exploring this magical setting in their role as caretakers (kaitiaki) of our environment. Strong links with our local primary schools help to support the transition to school for you and your child, as he/she moves on from kindergarten.
We would recommend that you enrol initially for at least two full days – building up to five days at your child's pace. This gives our teachers time to get to know your child and gives some consistency around supporting their learning.
Nau mai, tauti mai -come in any time – we’ll show you around and make you welcome!
