A favourite for generations of local kids.
Linwood Kindergarten opened in October 1928. As one of our oldest kindys its been part of some changes over the years. Below are some extracts from Kindergarten Chronicles on Linwood Kindergarten's past excursions.
“Linwood – Many excursions were enjoyed by children and staff, the most thrilling being a visit to the blacksmith – the return journey being made in a horse drawn cart.”
Majorie Suckling, Director, Christchurch Kindergarten Chronicle, 1938.
"Sixty children have enjoyed varied activities which included a picnic at Woodham Park on a lovely sunny day, the Kindergarten's tenth birthday party, "open mornings" and a harvest festival."
Christchurch Kindergarten Chronicle, 1946.
More recently, Linwood Kindergarten has been central to the rebranding of the Association. The below image is of the kindergarten children celebrating the Kidsfirst's new look with a cake.
