Nothing stands still in the world of early childhood education, and that's particularly true when it comes to Kidsfirst Kindergartens and our commitment to innovation and development in staying relevant to the community and today's parents.

Not only are we constantly looking at our learning environments, the way we teach and how we interact with parents and the local community, but Kidsfirst Kindergartens spend a lot of time thinking about the future and how we can make a great kindergarten-based start available to more tamariki.

That's led to a positive expansion plan which over the past couple of years has included a merger with the Central Otago Kindergarten Association, the purchase of the Niu pre-school which caters to the Tongan community in Christchurch, constant refurbishment and redevelopment of our existing kindergartens and opening our first new centres in many decades.

Kidsfirst Glacier Country in Franz Josef and Kidsfirst Diamond Harbour on Banks Peninsula are our newest early childhood learning centres.

There are exciting plans for Kidsfirst The Bays, which will be located close to the old Kidsfirst Mount Pleasant site, and a new early learning centre for the Rolleston community.

These are exciting times, however we never forget our focus must remain on the tamariki - as our name says, we put children first. Above all, what we do is for their benefit, growth and development.
