Educating our tamariki to take care of their environment is a big part of our Kidsfirst philosophy.

Kidsfirst Sumner tamariki are often outdoors spending time merrily tending to the garden.

Their trusty green watering can gets quite the work out, especially over the summer months, as the young gardeners make sure all the plants and flowers are well hydrated and happy.

All eyes turned to a dead bird that was placed in the fertile soil of the worm barrel. It inspired a great discussion around the cycle of life.

Then it was time to appreciate the beauty of nature with some floral art work, and a swap of some lavender stalks.
