Stepping back in time
Kidsfirst MacFarlane Park decided that having a Vintage Car Day wasn't quite enough of a celebration for them, so they took a day trip to Ferrymead Heritage Park to further extend the Kidsfirst centenary party!
Children got dressed up and enjoyed seeing what life was like in the past. They got to explore old houses, churches, classrooms, and essential town facilities like the post office, general store, and the extra special train station.
Excursions make up an important part of kindergarten, and they are a highlight for children, often contributing to fond memories they will treasure for years to come. Going to new places and seeing fresh things is also such a stimulus for learning.
A gigantic thank you to the parents and teachers who made this trip possible - it really wouldn't have happened without you.
