| The Hokitika Children’s Day event is as much anticipated by local tamariki as the Wildfoods Festival is by adults.
The maze is always a favourite activity and a great way to challenge and engage young minds while burning off some energy!
As part of the maze challenge, Kidsfirst Hokitika included a quiz with questions related to keeping ourselves healthy. Children had to look for the objects to answer the A-maze-ing Quiz like ‘Can you find the brain juice?’
“Over a four hour period we gave out over 400 quiz sheets,” says Head Teacher, Ceridwyn Dimmick.
Kindergarten parents helped out at the entrance and the exit of the maze, where the quiz was ticked off - and where the children were excited to choose a prize!
“It is an opportunity for us to give something back to our community and wave the Kidsfirst flag at the same time,” says Ceridwyn.
