SOME OF OUR TOP STORIES
|
Once a term we take all of our tamariki and many whānau from Kidsfirst Hillmorton on a bus trip down the road to the Addington Life Care Rest home,”
"We have been doing this for the past three years and usually take a koha (gift) to give to residents," says Head Teacher, Andrea Sullivan. "Either flowers or - at Christmas time – festive decorations handmade by tamariki."
"While there we share music, nursery rhymes and songs and the residents really enjoy singing along with us. They reciprocate by giving the tamariki some special treats to bring back to kindergarten.”
“This term we were also invited to visit the residents at Avonlea Rest home directly over the road from Addington Life Care.”
Sounds like lovely times shared by young and old alike.
