SOME OF OUR TOP STORIES

Living Springs is a natural playground, nestled in native bush on the hills above Canterbury’s Banks Peninsula. They welcome educational groups to their beautiful spot for inspired learning through a range of organised activities at their outdoor camping facilities or farm park.

“We had such a good day," says Kidsfirst Richmond Head Teacher, Liz. “The activities are so well run with cows, goats, an alpaca, pigs, ducks and geese to see. Being spring time we saw lots of baby animals.”

At the farm park there were opportunities for children to feed the animals, watch a cow get milked in the shed and have a ride on a farm cart pulled by a tractor.

There are so many enriching learning opportuntities that come with having interaction with animals for children at kindergarten age.

"For some of our children it was their first time having close encounters with lots of different farm animals," says Liz. “They were really excited, loved the bus ride through the Lyttleton tunnel and the view from the top of the hill was amazing.”

“It was so well worth it.”
